Starting with passionate teachers specialized in their teaching areas, we instill a sense of pride in our students and teach them to be independent thinkers. Recognizing that not everyone learns in the same way, or at the same speed, we keep our class sizes small and encourage a dialogue that keeps everyone involved.

The curriculum follows the Ministry of Education requirements for graduation in B.C. Some Advanced Placement courses are also offered. Typically, graduates are offered seats in post-secondary institutesin B.C., Canada and the U.S., and many are awarded scholarships.

Academic excellence goes hand-in hand with qualities like integrity, purpose, responsibility, empathy, knowledge and leadership. St. Andrew’s facts, and through God’s word and Catholic-Christian values, instill character. St. Andrew’s are building tomorrow’s
leaders. Intelligent leadership rests on having a strong sense of purpose and direction. This rests on facilitating the capacity to think clearly, act with integrity, make decisions, be sensitive to the needs of others, be strong in service and hold a global perspective.

The athletics program provides each student athlete the opportunity to compete at the highest level possible. Student athletes learn the value of lifelong physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Young women and men have a proud tradition of success in each sport – at local and provincial levels. Our coaches, mostly teachers at the school, have extensive knowledge and experience in their respective sports. Coaches strive to develop positive relationships with their athletes in an environment of respect and dedication. Many students have gone on to university and national rowing, soccer and squash teams.

The Music Department offers large and small instrumental and vocal ensembles so students can collaborate and experience performance opportunities. The St. Andrew’s choir, concert band and jazz band have a proud tradition of success at the local and provincial levels.

St. Andrew’s drama students discover the courage and honesty that theatre demands. Practical skills, techniques and approaches lead to theatrical success. Working in a supportive and challenging environment, students explore movement, speech, improvisation, acting, directing, technical theatre, design and theatre studies. The creative process helps students develop an appreciation of drama and theatre as an art form.

St. Andrew’s is proud of all of its students. Graduates have left our halls to make their way in the world, having distinguished themselves as professional leaders and significant contributors to society. We are delighted to call them alumni.

St. Andrew’s is a place where all students interact with God’s teachings and are challenged through a rigorous and comprehensive program of studies – to do the very best they can, and live the school motto – “To Build in Love.”
