Share the good vibrations
Asignificant part of the student experience at the University of Victoria’s School of Music takes place on stage. When it comes to live music-making, the energy transmitted by a receptive audience is invaluable to the success of those performing.

Share your good vibrations by attending a studio or student graduating recital, or one of the many ensemble concerts by the UVic Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Chorus, or Jazz Ensemble. Drop in for weekly Tuesday music and Fridaymusic concerts at 12:30 p.m. to hear a wide range of repertoire performed by School of Music students.

The popular Faculty Concert Series frequently showcases faculty collaborations within and outside of UVic. Season highlights include guitarist Alexander Dunn performing with the Chroma Quartet and members of the Lafayette String Quartet in a unique concert of guitar and string music on Sept. 28.

On Jan. 13, trumpeter Merrie Klazek is joined by renowned fiddler Pierre Schryer and guitarist Adam Dobres for a captivating program combining classical and folk music traditions.

Jazz personality Patrick Boyle honours the music of the legendary Chet Baker with Victoria veteran pianist Tom Vickery on Jan. 18.

The concert season is further enriched by some special guest events. The Orion Series in Fine Arts offers concerts, lectures and masterclasses with renowned artists from across the globe, and the Emerging Artists Alumni Series welcomes up-and-coming alumni back to the Phillip T.Young Recital Hall stage.
